Tim Boag

Chief Executive Officer

Tim Boag is a highly accomplished financial services leader with more than 35 years of experience spanning major UK banking institutions and specialist lenders. As Chief Executive Officer of Momenta Finance, Tim brings a unique perspective and deep sector knowledge to guide the company into its next phase of rapid growth.

Prior to joining Momenta Finance, Tim served as Group Managing Director of Business Finance at Aldermore Bank, where he led the commercial lending portfolio, drove strategic initiatives, delivered sustained growth, and strengthened credit performance. 

His career also includes senior leadership roles at Royal Bank of Scotland and NatWest, where he held positions such as Managing Director, Corporate & Commercial Coverage for London & South East, and Managing Director, Structured Finance, UK.

Tim is committed to empowering SMEs with fast, flexible, and transparent financing solutions. Under his leadership, Momenta Finance is expanding its product offering, deepening the use of technology and data-driven insights, and broadening its reach across a wide range of sectors.

Beyond his executive career, Tim is passionate about community engagement. An enthusiastic cyclist, volunteer Treasurer, and qualified rugby coach, he brings an energetic and people-centered approach to leading Momenta Finance.

Chris Forrest

Chief Commercial Officer

Chris Forrest is an accomplished commercial leader with deep experience in the UK’s corporate and commercial banking sectors. As Chief Commercial Officer at Momenta Finance, Chris leads the commercial strategy across both SME and property finance, focusing on expanding distribution, strengthening intermediary and broker relationships, and leveraging technology to deliver an enhanced customer experience.

Before joining Momenta Finance, Chris served as Head of SME at Barclays UK, where he was responsible for leading national relationship and business development teams supporting SMEs across a wide range of sectors. He has played a key role in building distribution networks and has championed customer-focused innovation throughout his career.

Chris brings a strong business development network and a passion for delivering transparent, impactful finance solutions. He is energised by the opportunity to shape the commercial direction of a fast-growing, progressive business that empowers SMEs and property clients, working alongside the wider Momenta team to drive the next phase of growth.

Jonathan Stern

Chief Financial Officer

With over 15 years of experience in the financial services sector, Jonathan Stern possesses a diverse skill set acquired through various roles, including advisory, forensic investigations, and distressed turnarounds. More recently, he has focused on the specialty finance lending space with Merchant Money, where his significant contributions have been vital to the company’s growth since its inception.

Jonathan holds esteemed qualifications as a Chartered Accountant and a Master’s in Business Administration, further enhancing his expertise in the field. Beyond his professional pursuits, he is an enthusiastic sports fan, particularly passionate about football. Whether testing his golfing abilities on the course or enjoying a run in the scenic parks of London, he maintains an active lifestyle. Additionally, Jonathan refines his scuba diving skills as a rescue diver during coastal adventures.

However, his greatest joys lie in his family, with his wife and their children.

Tom Shave

Sales Director

Tom Shave is an accomplished sales professional with a strong focus on achieving results. With over 17 years of experience in the financial services sector, he has excelled in roles related to new business development and client relationship management. Throughout his career, Tom has worked in various capacities at investment banks, stock exchanges, and start-up organisations prior to their initial public offerings (IPOs).

Known for his extensive network within the commercial finance industry, Tom leverages his market knowledge, sales strategies, and presentation skills to support introducers in finding suitable funding options for their clients. He places great importance on building and nurturing relationships based on trust with all introducers, as he believes it is crucial to their success.

Outside of work, Tom indulges in his passion for clay pigeon shooting. He actively participates in competitions to continually refine his skills and test his abilities.

Jake Furman

Head of Credit

Bringing with him a distinguished career spanning 10 years in the financial services industry. His expertise lies primarily in credit underwriting, with 8 years dedicated to this field. Jake played a pivotal role in leading the development of new products at Momenta Finance. Focusing on the design and implementation of the company’s credit decision engine.

Before joining Momenta Finance, Jake served as a credit securities analyst at Banyan Global Investment Advisors LLC in Florida, where he specialised in fixed income. Jake’s academic background is equally impressive. He holds a first-class Honours BSc in Economics from Nottingham University, providing him with a solid foundation in economic principles and analytical thinking. To further enhance his skills, he pursued an MBA with a specialisation in financial valuation and investment management from Lynn University in Florida.

Beyond his professional achievements, Jake finds joy on the sports field. He actively participates in semi-professional football, tennis and padel.

Caryn Margolius

Financial Director

Professional chartered accountant with a Masters in Taxation and over 15 years experience across finance, accounting and academia.

Caryn began her career in banking at the time of 2008 financial crisis and was involved in the persistent monitoring and reporting of the banking groups’ asset back securities. Thereafter, Caryn broadened her expertise in accounting and control with specific focus on process improvement, controls overhaul and implementation and financial planning and analytics.

After starting a family, Caryn joined her alma mata the University of the Witwatersrand, in Johannesburg as a senior lecturer in Management Accounting and Finance and during her tenure at the University she completed a master’s degree.

Subsequently, Caryn relocated to the United Kingdom and in 2024 joined Momenta Finance. Her primary focus is to reshape and build the group’s accounting and control function to support the business’ future growth.

Outside of work – Caryn enjoys spending time with her family, running in open space and reading a good thriller.
